The brokerage has agency agreements with all the major life and disability insurers active in the New Zealand market, but not all these companies offer policies of all types, and as expected, some companies will offer products which are superior to those marketed by other companies. We also subscribe to an independent service which provides us with critical analysis of the major features of the various types of policies and we may use such material as a guide in finalising our ultimate recommendations. Once the client’s policies are issued, the brokerage is remunerated by commission from whichever insurance company(s) were selected for the placement of the business. The company refuses to enter into any arrangements which result in obligations to place any quota of its business with any particular insurance company, and has always refused to do so, viewing any such arrangements as restrictions or limitations on its integrity and independence, and its ability to provide the best outcome for its clients. As managerial policy, the brokerage does not hold shares in any publicly listed insurer i.e. AIA, AMP, nor does it hold shares in the holding company of any insurer i.e. Suncorp Metway (Asteron).
